ADVANCE KAYAK

Expect the best from the best. Back at Rock and River Camp you learned how to kayak. In this Camp, you’ll learn how to be a kayaker.

Our most experienced and skilled Kayaking Staff will help you feel more like a peer than a Camper. That means unloading the kayak trailer, scouting rapids together, and setting safety on the river for one another.

Advance Kayaking Camp typically starts out with a warm-up lap on the upper James River on day one and then spends the rest of the week graduating towards the most fun and challenging sections / rapids / lines. We know the James River at every level and will help you begin to do the same. We won’t let you run a rapid you’re not ready for nor will we look down upon anyone who feels as though they are not ready for a particular rapid. No peer pressure here, just encouragement. Depending upon river levels, we may style Bosher’s Dam or the Hollywood Slide!
